Although it is already January 2 – I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year filled with blessings, joy and to my Artisan friends – lots more of “creativity”!
I really have never been one to make New Year’s Resolutions – it just never made sense that people make all these plans for a whole year – when we don’t even know what tomorrow will bring. I am not saying one should not have goals, but do the best you can without any expectations, and you may just get there.
I like to look towards my creative side and decide what new can I learn this year, and set my goal on that. Last year I had mentioned in one of my Blogs that I planned on learning a new Jewelry technique. So much has changed in the way of what people want since I first started designing my work. So by February I signed up for a Jewelry course in making the “Kumihimo” Bracelets. While sitting in a one-on-one class, I thought it would never happen watching the instructor adding the beads to the Kumihimo Wheel! Well as soon as I got home; and as with anything, once you try something yourself you it all seems to fall into place. These are a few items from my 2016 Goals:
My 2017 Goal – is related to my other Shop, MagdaleneKnits. Although I can do basic knitting – even made one of my son’s a 7′ scarf for Christmas- which I don’t think he has taken off yet; I want to learn so many more varied knitting stitches. My closest friend whose mother is in a home with a bit of dementia – can still knit the most beautiful pieces. She gave me the incentive to want to learn so much more.
A few of my knitted pieces:
Maybe I will try to get to the gym more – and maybe drink less coke -NOT! Or maybe I will start that book I have wanting to write for years – my goals are quite simple – expand my “creative horizons”!
Wishes all of you a Happy New Year with new adventures and experiences!
